When I put my contact microphones in a new place, they always surprise me more than I expected. As I prepare my tape recorder, I imagine what they will give me, but they always exceed my expectations. Here, some ants moving on the remains of a tree, bring us an aquatic sound, with rough textures but with a bubbling touch. Sounds, incidentally, very closely related to the environment from which they come, the forest of Lago Castiñeiras, as if the echoes of the nearby waters were still vibrating in the roots of that broken trunk.
